Channa Puffs/Chole Puffs













Ingredients:
For Stuffing:

  1. Boild channa/chick peas-1 cup
  2. Onion-1 medium (Finally chopped)
  3. Tomato-1 medium (Finally chopped)
  4. Ginger garlic paste-1 teaspoon
  5. Curry leaves
  6. Turmeric powder- little
  7. Red chilli powder- 1 teaspoon
  8. Cumin powder-1/2 teaspoon 
  9. Coriander powder-1/2 teaspoon
  10. Garam masala-1/2 teaspoon
  11. Dry mango powder-1/2 teaspoon
  12. Oil-1 table spoon 
  13. Salt- as needed
  14. Milk -1 table spoon for brushing
  15. Puff Pastry sheet- 1
Method:
  • Heat a pan with oil,splutter mustard and curry leaves.
  • Put chopped onions and fry for one mins.
  • Add ginger garlic paste ,fry for a while.
  • Once the raw smells goes,add tomato and fry till get mushy.
  • Add the cooked channa. (Drain the water)
  • Then add the all dry powders mix well.
  • Check salt ,finally add chopped cilantro,let it cool down.
  • Preheat the oven to 380 degree.
  • Follow the instruction for thawing the puff pastry sheet.
  • Cut the sheets in any desired spaces,and keep the filling in the middle.Don't keep more filling,it may come out while baking.
  • Apply little water and seal the edges.
  • Now,take fork and press all arround the edges to seal properly.
  • Arrange it in greased baking tray,brush with milk on top to get a golden color.bake it for 15 mins(or)till it bakes and changes color.
  • Once done,remove from the oven  ,serve hot.


Note:
  1. You can follow the same method for making vegetable puffs also.

Tofu Tikka







Ingredients:

  1. Firm tofu-1 packet
  2. Different colors bell peppers-Each 1 
  3. Onion- Half (or) one
  4. Tomato-2 
  5. Oil-for brushing the vegetables
  6. Corn flour- 1 tablespoon
  7. Skewers
For Tikka Marination:

  1. Thick yogurt-1/4 to 1/2 cup
  2. Red chilli powder
  3. Cumin powder- 1 teaspoon
  4. Coriander powder- 1 teaspoon
  5. Turmeric -little
  6. Amchur power (or)Lemon juice- very little
  7. Oil- 2teaspoon (i used olive oil)
  8. Salt -to taste 
*Dice all vegetables in same size.
*Take out the seeds from tomato and dice in small pieces.



Method:
  • Take out the tofu from packet,drain all excess water from it.
  • Take a thick kitchen towel wrap the tofu and keep some heavy thing on it.Keep it for 30 mins.
  • After that remove the towel,and cut in to small square sizes. Cut all in same size
  • Take a wider bowl,add all marination ingredients.Give a nice mix.Let all blend well.
  • Now add tofu,capsicum,onions and tomato,gently cover the mixer in all vegetable.
  • Close the lid and rest this for 15 mins.
  • Now preheat the oven, 400 F .
  • Clean the skewers,insert bell pepper,then onion, then  tofu, again bell pepper, then tomato, then bell peeper like this., 
  • Repeat the same.
  • Now skewers are ready to bake.
  • Line up the tray with parchment paper,arrange it.
  • Sprinkle little corn flour on top of the vegtable and tofu.
  • Keep this in oven and bake it for 10 mins.
  • Then open and flip flop the tofu and vegetables.Brush with oil. 
  • Sprinkle again some corn flour.
  • Bake it for 10 more mins.
  • Then bring oven in to broil mode,keep this for 3-5 mins.
  • After that remove the skewers and transfer in to serving plate,
  • Let't cool down for a while,then enjoy!!
Note:
  • Baking and broil timing is differ in each oven so check with that.
  • Can follow the same method for making paneer tikkas.For making paneer tikkas ,paneer have to be really firm.

Potato Wedges (Oven baked)








Time for blog hop,started by Radhika of "Tickling plalets "This week i paired with Charishma of, "Cherie's Stolen Recipe".She's having plenty of baking and cooking recipe.From her blog i took a simple baking recipe.Almost every kid likes potato wedges.Mine does :) Very simple steps to make a yummy wedges.Even it'll be a perfect appetizer's in parties.Let's see the recipe now,




  Ingredients:

  1. Potatoes-2 large
  2. Olive oil- 1 table spoon
  3. Red chilli powder- to taste
  4. Salt-to taste
  5. Pepper powder- little
Method:
  1. Pre heat the oven for 350 F .
  2. Wah the potatos,and wipe it with the dry cloth.
  3. Now strip the  potato in to thin or thick strips.
  4. Take that in to one bowl,add red chilly powder,salt and little oil.Mix well in hand.
  5. Now line a baking tray with parchment paper(butter paper).
  6. Spread the potato wedges on the tray,bake it for 10 mins.
  7. Then open the oven ,apply little oil on top and flip flop the wedges.
  8. Again bake it for 10 mins.
  9. Once it baked,take it out and enjoy with sauce.
Note:
  • Instead of olive oil,you can use any oil.
  • Cut the potato in to even shape to bake evenly.
