Soya Chunks Pulao






Hi Everyone ,hope u all doing great.Me too :) Time for Blog hop!!Event started by radhika of "Tickling Palates" .This week i paired with Neetu's "Hobby Chef".From her blog i took Protien rich Pulao recipe.You can add any other desired vegetables to this pulao.
Ingredients:


  1. Rice- 1 cups ( i used seeraga samba)
  2. Soya Chunks-3/4 cup
  3. Onion - 1 medium (Sliced)
  4. Tomato- 1 small (Chopped)
  5. Capsicum - half (Sliced)
  6. Green chilly-2 
  7. Red chilly powder- to taste 
  8. Tumeric powder-little
  9. Ginger garlic paste
  10. Cilantro
To Temper:
  1. Whole gram masala
  2. Cumin seeds-1/2 teaspoon
Method:
  • Soak rice for 15 to 30 mins.
  • Prepare soya chunks and chop ,in to small bite pieces.
  • Heat the pressure cooker,add ghee splutter whole garam masala & cumin seeds.
  • Add ginger garlic paste,fry  for 1 mins.
  • Then add onion & capsicum fry again for 2 mins.
  • Now add the chopped tomato and fry for 3-4 mins in medium heat,once it started losing oil add the dry powders,(Turmeric & Red chilly powder)
  • Put salt also.
  • Add the soya chunks mix well.
  • Now add required water to the rice ,put some chopped cilantro on the top.
  • Now close the lid and pressure cook it.
  • Once the whistle completely cool  downs,open the lid and  mix gently.
  • Serve hot with any vegetable kurma/Raitha...

Low Calorie Broccoli & Tofu Bonda




 After diwali am posting  my first entry for Blog hop wednesday~Edition 2.Hope all of u enjoyed Diwali with friends and relatives :)Now coming to blog hop,Radhika's doing a great job,now she introduced new friends to us.Really interesting, thank u  radhika :). This week i paired with Vardhini of   "Zesty Palette"  .She's having a wonderful blog with various cuisine.Totally i confused what to cook!! Am not a tofu lover ,but i love low calorie foods.So suddenly i selected to cook,Low calorie healthy bonda. When I visit some other blogs, I wonder how this bondas would taste, but it is awesome!!Let's see the recipe now,
 
Ingredients:

  1. Firm tofu-1/2 pack
  2. Broccoli-2 cups(Finally chopped)
  3. Green chilly -2 (Finally chopped)
  4. Red chilly powder/Salt-to taste
  5. Corinader powder-1/2 teaspoon
  6. Cumin seeds-1/2 teaspoon
  7. Turmeric powder-little
For batter:
Ingredients:
  1. Besan flour-1/2 cup
  2. Rice flour-1/4 cup
  3. Chilly powder/Salt-to taste
Method:
  • Remove out the  tofu from the pack.Take out all excess water.
  • Place tofu on a plate and cover with one more plate and keep some weight on top and allow to drain all water for 30mins.
  • After that,Scramble it with hands. 
  • Chop the broccoli very finely.
  • Now take a wider bowl,add all ingredients one by one and mix well.
  • Make a small dumplings ,keep aside.
  • Now dumplings are ready.
  • For batter,take a bowl again,mix all ingredients and add little water for consistency.
  • Make a semi thick batter.Batter shouldn't be very thin.
  • Heat paniyaram pan,add little oil in it.Let oil get heat.
  • Then,take one dumpling ,dip in to gram flour batter and place in paniyaram pan.


  • Repeat the same for all dumplings,Close with the lid.
  • After 1 min open the lid and flip the bondas with spoon Or tooth pick.
  • Flip and cook,for 2-3 mins till all side gets golden color.
  • If you like drop very little oil on top of each bondas before taking out.
  • That's it,Hot and healthy bondas are ready to have :)
  • Serve it with some spicy chutney or sauce.

Poondu Kuzhambu(With out Coconut)









What a wonderful event started by Radhika!!Am really happy to be a part in this event...This time i Paired with "Schmetterling words",she's having a nice blog with many baking recipes.I was suppose to try some from that, finally some ingredients was missing in my kitchen,So,i switched on to,"Poondu Kuzhambu".My way of  "Poondu Kuzhambu" is little diff from this.Taste was really really tangy and spicy ,we liked it..Ok let's move on to the recipe!!



Ingredients:

  1. Garlic-12 Pods
  2. Onions-1 large (Finally Chopped)
  3. Tomato-2 medium(Finally Chopped)
  4. Tamarind Juice-1/2 cup
  5. Chilly Powder-2 teaspoon
  6. Coriander Powder-3 teaspoon
  7. Turmeric Powder-Little
  8. Salt-To Taste
  9. Oil
For Tempering:
  1. Mustard seeds-Teaspoon
  2. Urad dal-1 Teaspoon
  3. Methi-Little
  4. Green Chillies-2 (Make a slit)
  5. Curry leaves- a few
                               

Method:
  • Heat 2 tablespoon of oil in the pan.
  • Temper everything under tempering ingredients list,one -by-one.
  • Add onions,fry for a while.
  • Then add Peeled Garlic,fry in a medium heat.
  • Add tomato and fry for 2 mins ,till get a little mushy.Can add little water to get a mushy.
  • Now add the dry masala, add chilly powder,coriander powder and turmeric powder.mix well.
  • Cook everything in a medium flame.
  • Once the raw smell goes,add the tamarind juice in to it.
  • Add 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup of water,while cooking.
  • Close the lid,let it be simmer.Cook this for 5-8 mins,cooked garlic should have to be in firm not a mushy one.So do a check in between.
  • That's it,switch off the stove and Serve hot with White rice (R)Crispy dosas ,will be excellent :)

Puzhi Satham/Puliyodharai





Time for Blog hopping.This time i was little late for posting my recipe.Hope,everybody know's about the event.For new visitors....,event started by Radhika from "Tickling Palates". 


For this week, i paired with Jayashri from "samayalarai-Cookingisdivine.blogspot.com".She's having sooo... many recipes in her blog.Was little confused...to select the recipe.Finally i decided to make Puzhi Satham/Puliyogare,My hubs Favorite. Many times he used ask me to prepare a spicy Puzhi Satham.I wont like more spicy  one,so i wont make :-) when i checked her recipe...it looks very flavorful and Yum...I tried and the result's  was too gud.


Let's see the recipe, 


Recipe for Pulikaichal:
Ingredients:


  1. Cooked rice-1 and half cups
  2. Tamarind -Small lemon size ball
  3. Turmaric powder-1/4 teaspoon
  4. Jaggery- 1 teaspoon
How to make Tamarind juice:
  • Wash tamarind in water first.Take out seeds and all waste things from it.
  • Take 1 cup of water ,put the tamarind and microwave it for 2 mins.
  • Once it cools,strain the juice using hands or filter.
  • Otherwise pour some hot water on washed tamarind,allow to cool. And follow the same.

For Tempering:
  1. Mustard seeds- 1 tablespoon
  2. Curry leaves - 1 string
  3. Peanuts- 2 tablespoon
  4. Red chillies-5 
  5. Channa dal-3 tablespoon
  6. Urad dal-4 tablespoon
  7. Hing- Little
To Roast & Grind:
  1. Red chillies-4 nos
  2. Methi seeds/Fenugreek seeds-3/4 teaspoon
  3. Urad dal-1 table spoon
  4. Channa dal-2 tablespoon
  5. Pepper corns- 1/2 teaspoon
Method:
  1. Roast all ingredients under "to roast & grind" list,in 1/2 teaspoon of oil.
  2. Allow it to cool down,then make in to a powder form.
  3. Now heat a wider kadai with 3 table spoon of sesame oil.
  4. Splutter all ingredients  one-by-one,  under tempering list.
  5. Roast all ingredients well in the oil,add the tamarind juice in it.
  6. Cook it for 5 mns in medium flame.
  7. Once raw smells goes from the mixture slowly add the ground spice powder to Tamarind mixture.
  8. Mix well with the spoon,after adding the spice powder the mixture will goes in to a thick form.Switch off the stove.
  9. Now the basic Puliogare mix's ready.
  10. Take some amount of the mixture and mix with the white rice.Mix gently to cover all white rice.





  • Let it rest for minimum 30mns before eating.



  • I served with Potato Podimas.

    Note:
    • Adjust spiciness to your taste.Add are decrease the amount of red chilly.
    • Use only Sesame oil,for exact taste.

    Urulai/Potato Roast


    Again time to Blog Hop,Fifth week of Blog Hoping.Event stated by Radhika of "Ticking Palates".This week i paired with Divya of "Easycooking".Potato fries, will be every one Favorite right,but in her blog i got Potato Roast with basic Indian Masala.Finally tried and the result was very nice.Recipe follows,


    Ingredients:

    1. Baby Potato- 15 (I used Frozen)
    2. Onion-1 medium 
    3. Tomato-1 medium
    4. Chilly Powder/Salt-To taste
    5. Coriander Powder-1 teaspoon
    6. Turmeric Powder-Little
    7. Mustard seeds-1/2 teaspoon
    8. Urad dal-1/2 teaspoon
    9. Oil-2 tablespoon

    Method:
    1. Pressure cook  the Potato for 2-3 whistles.
    2. Once it cools,remove the skin and keep in fridge to firm.
    3. Blend the onion and tomato in mixer ,keep aside.
    4. Heat a pan with oil,splutter Mustard seeds,urad dal and curry leaves.
    5. Then add the grounded Onion-Tomato Paste,mix well.Cook it for 2-3 mins.
    6. Add Chilly powder,Coriander powder and salt mix well,and cook it for 3-5 mins.
    7. Cook this still raw smell goes out.
    8. Now add the peeled potato,mix gently & cook it for 15-20 mins in follow flame.
    9. Give a gentle stir in between.
    10. Once the potato roasted and coated evenly switch off the stove.
    11. Ready to serve with Rice (R) Chapathi.
    Note:
    • You can use regular potato instead of Baby ones.Dice the Potato and follow the same method.

    Wheat Halwa/Wheat Flour Halwa







    Fourth Week of Blog Hop Wednesday ,this week i Paired with Neha of "From my heart", She's having cute blog with very yum recipes.This time i took a simple recipe,which can make easy in 5-10  mins.Very healthy sweet for Kids.I changed her recipe little bit.Lets see the recipe,







    Ingredients:
    1. Ghee- 1 cup
    2. Atta Flour/Wheat Flour- 1 cup
    3. Sugar-1 cup
    4. Water-2 cups
    5. Blanched Almonds-8 (Sliced)
    6. Cashew Nuts -5 (Chopped)
    *Save some Nuts for final garnishing. 

    Method:
    • Take a Non-stick pan/ heavy bottom pan,heat ghee.
    • Add Cashew and Almonds fry till turn golden brown.
    • Add water to it,allow to get hot.
    • Once water started boiling add sugar mix it with the wooden spoon,dissolve it.
    • Then slowly add the Atta Flour to it mix and stir well.
    • Cook for 2-3 mins in low flame.
    • Once raw smell goes  from the Halwa,transfer in to grease plate.Let it cool down for a while,then cut in to desired pieces.
    • Garnish it with chopped Almons/Badams.

    Aloo Paratha with Paneer Tikka Masala


     Third week of Blog Hop Wednesday,started by Radhika of "Tickling Palates". This week i Paired with  Ayeesha , "Taste of Pearl City". She's having a wonderful space,really it's tough for me to Choose one dish from there. Finally i Chosen one of my family's favorite dish.I know ,all of u like Paneer :),Let's see the recipe here,












    Aloo Paratha:
                     
                                       
    Ingredients for Dough:
    1. Atta Flour/Wheat Flour- 1 and half cups
    2. Curd/Yogurt-2 teaspoon
    3. Ghee-1 teaspoon
    4. Bicorbanate of soda-pinch
    5. Honey-1 teaspoon
    6. Salt-To taste
    7. Ghee/Oil- to Roast Parathas
    For Stuffing:
    1. Boiled Potato/Aloo-2 small size
    2. Onion-half medium (Finally chopped)
    3. Green chilly-1 (Finally chopped)
    4. Cilantro-1/4 cup (Finally chopped)
    5. Salt -To taste
    Method:
    1. Shift the Atta flour/wheat flour and cooking soda.
    2. Take a wider bowl,add the flour in to it,add yogurt,ghee & honey.Mix well in hand.
    3. Then add required water,make a soft tight dough.Knead well,for 5-7 mins.
    4. Cover with lid.
    5. Rest it for minimum 2hrs.
    For Stuffing:
    Method:
    1. Take a wide bowl,mash the boiled potato,avoid lumps.
    2. Add onion,green chilly,cilantro,salt and pepper.
    3. Mix well with the hands.
    4. Now,stuffing is ready.
    Making Parathas:
    1. Knead the Dough again  & make a small balls.
    2. Make a small balls with Potato mixture.
    3. Now roll the Paratha dough in to disired size ,keep the stuffing in middle and cover it.
    4. Again roll it with little bit of raw flour,make a circle shape.
    5. Heat the Tawa&roast the Parathas on both the sides,with Ghee (R)Oil.
    6. Now Paratha's ready to serve with any veg Curries.

    Aloo Paratha's simply taste superb with plain Curd.But Paneer Tikke Masala give more taste,let c the recipe here,

                               

    Paneer Tikka Masala:


                                

    Ingredients:
    1. Paneer-200grams(Diced)
    2. Onion-1 small(Diced)
    3. Tomato-1 (Diced)
    4. Red Bell pepper-1/2 (Diced)
    5. Green Bell Pepper-1/2 (diced)
    6. Chilly Powder- To taste
    7. Kasoori Methi-2 teaspoon
    8. Salt-Little
    9. Oil-1 teaspoon
    Take a bowl & Marinate all the above ingredients for 1 hr.After that heat pan with table spoon of oil and roast eveything together till all turns roasted.

    For Gravy:
    1. Onion-1 medium (Chopped)
    2. Tomato-1 medium(pureed)
    3. Ginger Garlic -1 teaspoon
    4. Chilly Powder- To Taste
    5. Coriander Powder-1 teaspoon
    6. Garam Masala-1/4 teaspoon
    7. Maida-2 teaspoon
    8. Jeera-2 teaspoon
    9. Salt and pepper-To Taste
    10. Oil/Butter/Ghee- 1tablespoon
    Method:

    1. Heat a Non-stick tawa,with Ghee,roast cumin seeds.
    2. Add Ginger garlic paste,fry it.
    3. Add Onion and fry well.
    4. Now add maida in to it and fry for 1-2 mins.
    5. Then add the tomato Puree,mix well.
    6. Add required water in it.stir well.
    7. Add the dry powders i.e.,Chilly powder&coriander powder, cook it for 2-3 mins again.
    8. Once all came to thick gravy ,add the above cooked paneer capsicum mixture and stir slowly.
    9. Cook the gravy for 5 mins in low flame.
    10. Adjust salt and pepper.
    11. Finally add garam masala and cilantro leaves on top.
    12. Now the rich Paneer Tikka Masala is ready to go with any type of Indian Flat bread ,Rice and Pulao.

    Featherlite Cake









    Featherlite Cake,Exspecially for "Ticling Palates" Radhika's Blog hop Wednesday.Now it enter in to Second  week.I have been paired with Shireen of "Ruchil Randhap-Delicious Cooking".She's having a very beautiful blog with many baking recipes.I like to bake,i selected to make a Simple(only few steps) Cake.




    Ingredients:


    1. All purpose flour/Maida-2 cups
    2. Sugar-1 cup
    3. Butter-1 cup
    4. Egg-3
    5. Milk-1cup 
    6. Baking Powder-3/4 teaspoon
    7. Vanilla essence-1 teaspoon
    • Method is very simple,Separate the egg yolks from the egg white.
    • Bring the butter to room temperature(Soft).
    • Boil the milk & cool it.
    • Sieve Maida and Baking powder for 2-3 times and keep aside.
    Method:
    1. Preheat the Oven to 350 F.Grease the Cake tray with little butter and all-purpose flour.
    2. Take a wider bowl,beat butter & sugar for 3-4 mins in medium speed.It'll turn fluffy.
    3. Add the egg white first in to mixture,beat well.
    4. Add the egg yolks and beat it for 2 more mins in low flame.Pour the vanilla essence.
    5. Now,add the flour & milk alternately,fold the mixture.(Do not bled (R) mix in hand)
    6. Then,transfer in to greased pan
    7. Bake it  for almost 35-45 mins.
    8. After then,let't cool down  for 30mins & cut and enjoy.
